CAPE! Comic
and Pop-Culture Expo. 10 am – 6 pm. A FREE comic book
day event at Craddock Park, 3300 Hawthorne Ave. (Lemmon Ave.
near the Tollway). The worlds largest Free Comic Book Day
event. This festival of comic book and comic art includes
more than 80 comic book writers and artists for a free
afternoon in the park. Seven thousand free comics, packets
for teachers and a huge comic quarter sale. Activities
include ‘La Reunion workshop panel’ at 11 am, ‘How to make
web comics’ panel at 2 pm and a Super Heroes costume contest
at 4 pm. Other weekend events include a Live Art Show on May
2nd at St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin on Commerce St. and a Big
Gay Brunch on May 4th at Frida’s on Cedar Springs Rd.

The Women's
Chorus of Dallas will be performing "Heart
Lights" live on Saturday, May 10 at 4PM at Northaven United
Methodist Church. Treat Mom and other special women in your
life to an intimate, heart warming performance honoring the
women who light our paths. This is one performance that will
be most memorable when shared with the special women we all
have in our lives whether it be a mother, sister,
grandmother, daughter or best friend. Song selections will
include "In My Grandmother's Garden", "Girls Just Wanna Have
Fun", "Sisters", "Wind Beneath My Wings" and"You Raise Me
Up". The Women's Chorus of Dallas will be also welcome
special guests, MosaicSong, under the direction of Dana
Lobaugh, Director and the college bound recipient of the
John Thomas Scholarship. Single concert tickets are now on
sale and begin at $10 for seniors/students with adult
tickets ranging from $15-$25. A dessert reception will
follow in the Atrium. The Women's Chorus of Dallas offers
women the opportunity to sing classical choral repertoire
along with popular music. The Women's Chorus of Dallas is
comprised of over 70 singers who perform three Season
Concerts and over 20 outreach performances each year. The
chorus performs in support of and raises funds for Breast
Cancer and AIDS awareness, Domestic Violence Shelters, and
